Moorcroft designer Vicky Lovatt has passed her design Sunflower to the legendary painter Wendy Mason who has taken her magical hands and turned this design into the flambe reds we all love. Wendy Mason has served in excess of 40 years with Moorcroft and her skills to combine metallic oxide colours into the rich ruby reds. Antique Moorcroft using the Flambe firing technique was time consuming and dangerous as it produced carbon monoxide as a by product. Today Wendy safely uses metallic oxides to re-discover flambe. Often there is only one piece painted in flambe colours.
