Skomer Island Plaque
Fresh from the success of her design for the annual Moorcroft May Open Weekend, Helen has reworked her puffin design. Afterall, who can honestly say they don’t like puffins? Their comical appearance is heightened by their red and black eye-markings and bright orange legs. This clown among seabirds is one of the world’s favourite birds. With half of the UK population at only a few sites, it is a Red List species, according to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Helen’s design is a brilliant cacophony of movement, underwater chaos, bubbles and colour as puffins scramble and dive to catch tasty morsels. The birds are frequent visitors to Skomer Island, less than a mile off the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast.
