Design: Several years ago Moorcroft looked to create a simplified, retro, but still hand tube lined, and hand painted ranges, that were more affordable, and coming from a design brief where designs maybe were associated with an interior buyer, and that may have appealed to a different audience. However, after initial launches, Moorcroft withdrew the idea as demands to design, and handmake these pieces, fell upon the same skilled workforce that make Moorcroft as we know it, and so to increase the demands on a creative team was decided to end.
Therefore, a few trials of what was to be Design Consort, were made with Moorcroft backstamps, and one said piece, is this one you see here. Designed by Nicola Slaney, carrying the date of 28/07/2016 . The piece is tube lined, painted with metallic oxide black, and each circle carries platinum. Unusually this piece with precious metal applied, means the piece is fired 3 times.
